Marunao

Regular price $80.00 Sale

MARUNAO’s legacy began in 1939 when the Fukuda family’s first generation, Naoyoshi Fukuda, began making carpentry tools in Kanazawa, Japan. Since then, Marunao has worked out of the Niigata Prefecture, continuing to make a variety of hand tools and Classical Japanese instruments. In 2003, under the direction of the Fukuda family’s third generation, Marunao moved into the manufacturing of chopsticks and utensils. These craftsmen draw on their rich experience of working with ebony and shitan (rosewood) using traditional finishing technique. Marunao chopsticks and utensils are highly functional, and are carefully crafted with exquisite attention to every detail; from the tips of the chopsticks to their signature octagonal shape, whilst always bearing in mind the dining experience of the user.

This is a case for carrying items for etiquette such as mint and a toothpick. The items within don't come out in your pocket, and you'll love the touch of the case felt in your hand. It can also be used as a fashionable case for earrings and necklaces.

Size:W20×H85×D12mm (0.8x3.3x0.5in)

Please note, as each product is handmade from wood, the product may differ slightly in color or grain. Do not place in microwave or dishwasher. Please handwash with mild soap and soft sponge. Do not let soak in water. After washing, dry immediately with towel for storage.

The wood pieces are made thin to fit delicately in your hand. Avoid bending which may break the product. Do not polish with a scrubbing brush or polishing powder. The wood is not coated and will gradually lose their natural gloss. To restore sheen, rub with a bit of olive oil on a cotton cloth piece.
